Songs used by Politicians
Musicians and Politicians
One of such songs is the "Dear Mr. President" by P!nk from herfourth album, I'm Not Dead (2006). According to Pink the song was an "open letter" to then President of the United States, George W. Bush. It was released in Europe, Australia and Canada but not in The States.

This is how music and songs can highlight and show whats going on in the present day. Songs like this are not only controversial but they are an eye opener too.

Make Love, Not War.
Long hair, tie dye shirts, and peace, all describe the group of people who fueled the musical movement that we know today as Woodstock. It was 1969 when it happened, over 500,000 people showed up to a farm just 50 miles outside of Woodstock New York to take part in what may be the biggest musical movement to help shape the political economy. Woodstock was a music and art festival that displayed some of the most recognizable artists of the 1960's such as, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, and Jimmy Hendrix, as well as many more. But what was Woodstock about? Was it a peaceful demonstration that many people there say it to be, or was the media at the time right, saying that it was all about hippies, long hair, and drugs.
A Stealthy Tool to Manipulate Your Mind
Music and Politics
Music and politics are both deeply related to each other. Music and politics are two important spheres of an individual's life . In this present era , many musicians and song writers in the world have made great efforts to produce songs which can express political views and aware people about injustice happening with them Music can be used as a weapon against politicians. Political music is often used to convey a messages to public and to warn politicians.
In developing countries , music is also helpful in lighting social problems like human rights and female foeticide. Several artists had written songs on social problems , but some powerful authorities are strctly against such songs because these songs uncover their shameful deeds . It is difficult to imagine how people will look at these songs whether they like it or not. There are several songs made on the topic of corruption . Famous musicians sings songs on the issues related to political injustice and nation's welfare. For illustration , Pete Seeger sang a song about the issues of civil rights and Vietnam war. Bob Dylan also sing songs on these topics.Songs such as Dylan's encouraged listeners to be aware and start arguing with the politicians that are dominants of society.
In some developing countries , politicians gave a lot of money to famous musicians who make songs on politicians and these songs help them during elections. They also attend the music concerts of famous musicians for their own sake .
Politicians know that music is the best way to spread information in the whole country. To win elections and gain publicity ,they make use of music, musicians and music concerts because music and videos influence people a lot.
So, no one can deny the fact that music has a great power to protest against political injustice. Whenever there happens something wrong then music is our the alarm to inform us that now we should rise from slumber and fight for our right.

MUSIC FUELED THE SIXTIES
The Beatles are a legendary band icon who’s music rose in the 60s and never died. Although they are no longer together, their music still widely influences many cultures. When people remember the sixties, they remember many revolutions and “hippies.” Fueled by marijuana, LCD, and psychedelic music which was led by the Beatles, they created the sexual movement and The Underground Press. So did music fuel a revolution? Was it the music that created such change in media and democracy? It sure did..jpg)
Emerging Themes In Gaga's Video
As we all have observe, Lady Gaga has carved out quite an interesting niche for herself in our world's music industry. She has intrigued and perhaps disgusted us with her choice in wardrobe and stupefied us with some of her lyrics and music videos. This blog post will focus supremely on her videos and what emerging themes that one can see if one watches them all consecutively.
Gaga’s starts off with her debut video “Just Dance” featuring Colby O’Donis in an already risqué fashion. She features the basic themes and images that any pop star exudes in today’s world and those are of the party scene and the video progressively getting more sexual as it goes on. One thing that stands out is her choice in outfit where she sports a disco ball styled bra.
Most of the earlier videos we see from her are mostly similar to others’ where she and her cast wear revealing clothing and seem to promote sexual activity. A few marketing schemes start to emerge as we watch her videos. Several of them consistently broadcast products of BeatsbyDre, a good that is used primarily for music consumers.
Another repeating image that we see is a pair of mysterious Dalmatians. They appear in the background of “Poker Face”, “Eh, Eh”, “LoveGame”, and “Paparazzi”.
Lady Gaga favors the exaggerated makeup in all her music videos. She sports the dark and heavy eyeliner, stresses on the obvious fake eyelashes, and makes her face look like a character in horror movies. Gaga's props and costumes are also very uniquely chosen. In "Telephone" featuring Beyonce Knowles, the video was shot in a jail, and Lady Gaga has opened beer cans in her hair as hair curlers. Later on in the video, she is also wearing sunglasses made of cigarettes, and is naked with nothing but a police "DO NOT CROSS" tape covering the important body parts.
Lady Gaga has an immensely large range of ideas throughout her 45 songs in her career so far. She has no set theme for her music. As she makes more music and shoots more videos, her costumes will always be bizarre, exotic and provocative.
Effects of music: positive or negative
Several studies such as mentioned below has been proven that rap music does effect mental health of a person.
Gan, S.-L., Zillmann, D., and Mitrook, M. (1997). Stereotyping effect of Black women's sexual rap on White audiences. Basic Appl. Soc Psychol. 19(3): 381-399.
Hansen, C. H. (1995). Predicting cognitive and behavioral effects of gangsta rap. Basic Appl. Soc. Psychol. 16(1/2): 43-52.
Music piracy, the way of obtaining music by illegal means while passing by the copyright law of Canada is at it's all time high. "The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) (2009) estimates that music sales declined from $13.7 billion in 1998 to $8.5 billion in 2008," and according to the OECD Canada has the highest amount of file sharers, which is people sharing illegally downloaded files, mainly music and movies. Looking at the Canadian Copyright Act, "the unauthorized copying or distribution of copyrighted material for profit is illegal." Even though the law clearly states that online music piracy is illegal, millions of people are able to abuse this law and obtain whatever music they want because the government is not cracking down on file sharers. Music piracy is affecting artists everywhere, the copyright law is there in order to help the artists strive and earn revenue through their work, but because people are getting around it, it is unable to do that. Music piracy on a larger, more mainstream level, is causing the artists to lose out on revenue, however, on a more indie level, music piracy and through online mediums, up and coming artists are able to earn recognition and become noticed.
Piracy, in some ways helps striving artists gain recognition and help them financially. An example would be Justin Bieber. He used Youtube (mediums), to gain recognition and to show off his talent and later on got picked up by an agency. Before the era of Youtube, artists would audition for agencies or play shows and get picked up by agencies that way. If copyright laws were to be abolished, youtube videos of upcoming potential stars singing/dancing along to background music wouldn't be possible and we would be forced to take a step back in time and go back to auditions at agencies. The future of “fair use” is at stake if we let copyright laws keep going. Copyright laws don’t really change, but the future of social media and technology change quite rapidly that we must adapt these laws or come up with new laws to keep up with all this change.
Music piracy as known can be defined as stealing one's music. Sites like Mediafire, Kickasstorrents, and 4Shared are all sites that are used for piracy of music. Music piracy is definately having a massive effect on the music industry and the artists. It is not only illegal, but you could also end up in jail with heavy fines. Sadly, it's a crime that many people commit on a daily basis. Most importantly, stealing music stifles careers of new artists and up coming bands. People often rationalize that stealing music illegally doesn't punish or hurt anyone. Think about it and tell that to a struggling young music artist or even a garage band who is trying to start a career of their own. But can't get signed because record sales are low, because people would rather download the music for free rather then paying which is the right thing to do. It really does impact new music artists, they need all the support they can get. The internet is for sure a great place for advertising and letting consumers listen to the music for free to check it out and see how they like it. However there is a immense difference of downloading and spreading the music across the internet. World statistics, IFPI famously claimed that 95% of all digital music had been illegally downloaded.
Music piracy is both a good thing and a bad thing for artists, one the one hand up and coming artists have the ability to be recognized for their work, while on the other hand, artists that have already "made it" are troubled by music piracy, as they are losing out on sales.
Music -the incarnation of life
As we all know that music plays a very important role in our lives.Music washes away tthe dust of everyday life. Music has an immmense power to express our feelings, emotions and impressions . In difficult situations , music also console us. When nobody is with us , music is there to console us.One good thing about music that when it hits you , you feel no pain.
A song like “Gay Bar” by Electric six, with an ironic statement mostly existent throughout the song, can still acquire political references embedded beneath. For instance “let’s start a war, start a nuclear war” has been said to lyrically resemble George bush’ ambitions as President. Despite this negative impact of the song most people do not realise the song writer’s opinion. These opinions are concealed to the listener rather than being a direct instruction to start conflict, even if watched on ‘YouTube’ the song is demonstrated with the words “nuclear” to be over-toned with a whipping noise, although this noise has no relation to the artist’s composition, it is done so no one is offended and cannot be seen to instil a belief held by the composer. The ‘YouTube’ council have censored it so no harm is caused, despite not being from the artists’ original creation although Electric Six would not be seen to be representing any sort of political movement. This is only a small example of how the authorities’ impact alters how we initially think and listen to our music.

Songs as a medium and so much more......
As we all know., there are many types of medium all around us, whether its a simple newspaper, a novel or something more new age and hip like Twitter.
Music can be a very good medium it can be used to transmit any kind of message and also we can figure out anyone's personality at least some parts of it. Having a bad day or may be a break up? The world is on the verge of coming to an end? Someone royally pissed you off? Or you really don't really care about the material world...... their are songs for everything.

Music is something everyone can relate to, it is something beyond language which was effectively proven by the Korean song Gangnam style by Korean artist Psy, , which was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most liked video on YouTube, even thought the song was in a different language. Same goes with the song Jai Ho sung by Indian artist A.R Rehman was partly in Hindi and English won many prestigious awards like Academy Award and Grammy Award. The song has an English adaptation as well done by the American girl group Pussycat dolls and the song was named Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny) . Though this song was not able to gain that much popularity as the original one.
Songs Misinterpretation
I believe almost everyone one of you agree with me that that "Music" plays a important and big part of our life. We listen to music when we are sad, feeling alone or even at parties. Many of you also have probably hummed, whistled or even sang your favorite songs. I know i have. I love music, and have always listened to it. There are many great bands and singers. And new one's always coming along. Although some prefer the original and classic ones. Everyone has their own taste in music and that's the way it should be as well.
